2014 McLaren F1: First Details of the New British supercarin

McLaren begain testing the heir of the F1, expected in 2014 and known for the moment as P12. Alongside the MP4-12C using an alphanumeric code similar challenge with the latest supercar Porsche 918 Spyderand the Ferrari Enzo successor. The tests, according to information gathered by Autocar, began in Spain, Germany and Bahrain, to submit to the forklift in all weather conditions and start collecting data is to the adjustment.

Just as the F1 of 1994, the new model will represent a unique choice, both for only 500 units planned by 2018, both for the price: it suggests about 1 million pounds (1.15 million euros at current exchange rates), a figure even higher, in relation to that at the time required for the Pharaonic F1 Gordon Murray. To justify such an outlay will be a carbon frame and a brand new 5-liter supercharged V8 engine with 800 hp developed with Ricardo Graziano gearbox connected to a dual-clutch 7-speed rear axle with traction. The pair should be available approximately 81 kgm from 3500 to 6800 rpm, ensuring a virtually inexhaustible drive: easy to imagine a 0-100 km / h in under 3 seconds, but could be the surprise 0-320 km / h about 20 seconds.
The suspension set-up and the department should continue the pattern of the MP4-12C, with the parameters of the advanced electronic management, the management of hydraulic anti-roll bars and traction control with various settings. Also logical to use a carbon-ceramic Brembo brake system last generation. The active aerodynamics will be recovered from the MP4-12C, but the lines will be more aggressive and extreme, with some quotations from the original F1: The carrier will not offer probably 3 seats with driver central, but visibility and “minimalism” will be the same as always, without the quality and finish will suffer.
